Internal Organizational Audit

Pride Toronto Announces Internal Organizational Audit

TORONTO – Today, the Co-Chairs of Pride Toronto’s Board of Directors announced that the organization has launched an internal organizational audit of grant management policies, processes, and practices, as a result of issues raised by several sources.

“The Board of Directors takes its fiduciary responsibilities very seriously, and is prioritizing financial accountability at Pride Toronto through this audit,” said Grant Gonzales and Yuri Hernandez, Co-Chairs, Pride Toronto.

KPMG has been selected as the third-party, independent auditor. The purpose of the audit is to conduct a comprehensive audit of internal financial operations and external reporting with respect to grant management to identify any potential exposure to risks, and address any policy or process gaps.

The Board of Directors anticipates that the audit will conclude within the next three months and is prepared to act expeditiously to implement the recommendations.

“Pride Toronto plays a critical role in Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ community and will always take great care to address any issues raised about the operations of the organization. The Board and staff leadership are working in collaboration to launch this audit and we are determined to strengthen our financial policies and processes,” concluded Gonzales and Hernandez.
