Brayo Bryans

I am Brayo Bryans, an artist who has always used creativity as a powerful tool for advocacy, healing, and change. My music is deeply intertwined with my activism, rooted in the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community in Uganda and beyond. Through my journey as a musician, performer, and composer, I have always sought to amplify marginalized voices and provide a platform for self-expression.

As the founder of Talented Ugandan Kuchus (TUK), I brought together talented LGBTQ+ Ugandans to use music as a vehicle for social justice. I composed The Kuchu Anthem, now recognized as the Ugandan LGBTQ+ movement’s song, a testament to our resilience and pride. Over the years, I have honed my craft by blending genres and creating songs that tell authentic stories of struggle, hope, and triumph.

Since relocating to Canada with the support of Rainbow Railroad, I have continued to grow both as an artist and an advocate.

Beyond music, I have always been dedicated to creating impactful visual and artistic projects. From composing for documentary films like Call Me Kuchu to directing my visual stories, I aim to combine art and activism seamlessly. My music and performances inspire others to embrace their identities and find strength in their narratives.

With my unique blend of activism and artistry, I am committed to making a positive impact, and I look forward to continuing this journey with your support.
