This free and all ages event is a space where our rich cultures, vibrant identities, and shared experiences come together in celebration, connection, and pride! Expect a vibrant mix of performances by queer South Asian artists, food, fun games, community created art for sale and space to make friends. Come as you are or come decked out in South Asian attire—bring your joy, your stories and your full self. Together, we’ll create a space where queerness meets culture and community becomes home. His first exhibition, Reflection, showcases staged shoots with the House of Pride drag performance group. Featuring iconic and dynamic poses, Hues’ photographs explore the human body through dance and art, reflecting both personal and political themes of the time. Influenced by various photographers, his work combines timeless style with the spirit of the era. Highlighting key series like Living Evidence, Plain(s) Warrior Artist, and Facing the Camera, the exhibition explores identity, community, 2SLGBTQ+ desire, and belonging through Favell’s deeply personal and subversive lens. A celebrated figure in Indigenous contemporary art, Favell’s 40-year career has earned national and international acclaim. Her work is held in major institutions, including the National Gallery of Canada and the Smithsonian. Based in Ottawa, Favell continues to affirm Métis history and champion representation. Established in 1996, it is the only athletic event during Pride Week and the largest pride run in Canada. Participants can run or walk 5km or 3km, with all charitable pledges benefiting selected community charities. Matt, a journalist, seeks a way out, while Roger, a teacher, struggles with his identity. They meet Moe/Moereen, an immigrant who shows them unconditional love, and radical lesbians Sandy and Jo, who broadcast news in defiance of the law.
