We are excited to offer a Pathways group specifically for families who identify as LGBTQ2SIA+. Where we can learn about adoptive parenting – it’s joys and challenges – in a setting that is safe and affirming.

The story begins in 1972 with two men, Roger and Matt, who undergo electro-shock therapy to “cure” their homosexuality. Matt, a journalist, seeks a way out, while Roger, a teacher, struggles with his identity. They meet Moe/Moereen, an immigrant who shows them unconditional love, and radical lesbians Sandy and Jo, who broadcast news in defiance of the law. Gay History Walk

– Fri June 6th, 12th, 20th, 2pm– Prime Timers Toronto – Allan Gardens, Palm House, Main Entrance. – Free except for Pride donations / All Ages GAY TORONTO HISTORY WALK – THEN AND NOW, (Although it covers mostly Gay history it should be of interest to the whole 2SLGBTQIA+ Community) The Gay Toronto History Walk is a 45-minute tour that begins at the Palm House in Allan Gardens, where Oscar Wilde spoke in 1882. The walk covers significant 2SLGBTQIA+ community spaces on Church Street, including Club Toronto, Zippers, The Barn, and Letros, and features stops at the first “Gay Apartment Block,” Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, and Woody’s, which hosted Queer As Folk filming. The tour also includes the AIDS Memorial, The 519’s programs, and concludes at Glad Day Bookshop. Inspired by George Hislop, it celebrates Toronto’s queer history and community resilience.

Counterpoint Community Orchestra June Concert

– Saturday June 7th, 2025, 7:30pm– Counterpoint Community Orchestra– Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Ave, – $20/adults; $12/children & youth, All Ages– Wheelchair Accessible Counterpoint Community Orchestra (CCO) is Canada’s first 2SLGBTQIA+ orchestra, formed in 1984, and performing a primarily classical repertoire continuously since then. We believe we are the oldest and longest running 2SLGBTQIA+ orchestra in the world, Our rehearsals are held at The 519 Community Centre, and the CCO stages three concerts annually, in December, March and June. Several hundred musicians and volunteers have played with and supported the orchestra over the past 40 years. Counterpoint continues to support the principles of sharing the joy of making excellent music together in an environment that is inclusive, diverse, and welcoming. This season we are featuring works by female composers at each concert.
