T. Thomason

T. Thomason

T. Thomason has captured audiences with high energy, emotional indie pop performances in Canada & beyond since his teenage years. A passionate advocate for queer/trans rights, T. aims to create life affirming, joyful experiences for his community (& everyone else) through music. He approaches songwriting as a commitment to “Say tough things tenderly,” a practice revealing an impressive depth of wisdom, clarity & courage in the young artist. Collaborating with Sarah McLachlan, opening for Carly Rae Jepsen, & touring with Collective Soul are only some highlights of T.’s exciting career to date. T.’s most recent album ‘Tenderness’, released by Six Shooter Records in 2024, is “filled up with odes to quiet, beautiful, and scary moments of intimacy” (Range Magazine), and “Contains multitudes. It starts off as shimmery, dreamy, and intimate and slowly builds into a pop-rock explosion of nostalgia and feelings: longing and gratitude, love and fear, determination and joy.” (CBC Music).

Taylor Abrahamse

Taylor Abrahamse

“Taylor's live show is absolutely electric. When we toured together, I loved watching how audiences remained transfixed by Taylor's talent & wit. Absolutely brilliant songwriting and performance.” - Flamy Grant, Billboard-Charting Singer/Songwriter/Drag Queen "Taylor is truly one of Canada's most original and outstanding artists [that] I have worked with... His sense of melody & song structure, along with an amazing skill as a performer, will soon be revealed to the general public." - Eddie Kramer, Grammy-Winning Producer/Engineer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Beatles, Brian May, Carly Simon) Like a maple leaf in a gust above the prairies, Taylor Abrahamse blissfully guides audiences beyond the borders of gender & genre with his/her deftly crafted, hook-laden hammerclaw pop. A Prince/Paul Simon/Jim Carrey crossbreed, (s)he’ll leave you laughing, moved, and even singing along - if you can reach that high. Starting as a five-year-old Elvis impersonator, at age 6, Taylor vowed to hold onto a sense of play as he got older - and inspired by Jim Carrey in ‘Ace Ventura’, asked his parents for an acting agent. This resulted in many early career roles, including music-adjacent ones such as the ABC biopic ‘Inside The Osmonds’ where he played Jimmy Osmond and worked with the real Osmond family, and a recurring role on ‘DOC’ where he acted alongside Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus. As a tween, listening in the dark to the full catalogs of Elton John, Queen & more sparked a ferocious songwriting, practicing & recording ethic - to such an extent he wrote songs and even mini-musicals related to school assignments for extra credit. At sixteen, he was a finalist on Canadian Idol, and began regularly playing across Ontario while getting his BFA in music at York University. Since then, Taylor has become a Kerrville Newfolk & Four Winds Emerging Artist Winner, FAI & NERFA official performer, as well as a Mariposa Emerging Artist finalist. He produced & mixed his 2020 Factor/TAC supported debut album in partnership with the great Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, KISS, etc), who insisted on working with Taylor out of love for his songwriting. Along with four singles, 120K streams across all platforms, acclaimed self-directed, edited & produced music videos, airplay across Canada and a Deluxe Edition, it's release sparked a chance to open for multi-Juno-winner Hawksley Workman (one of Taylor’s childhood music heroes!), and his first US & Canada tour. Taylor’s newest release, ‘Live In Lockdown Vol 1’, was one of many live projects Taylor tracked during a tumultuous farewell to Silverthorn Studios - a community recording studio he co-founded and ran for seven years. During its final five weeks, he tracked versions of over 120 original songs, with frequent musical guests. Making use of some of those recordings as well as new recordings, Taylor plans to release an O.A.C-funded pop-focused E.P. However, before then, Taylor will be releasing an intimate but electrifying 2024 live solo concert, recorded in September at folk institution Godfrey Daniels in Pennsylvania. Taylor has also written musicals, and writes regularly with artists & songwriters emerging and established, including The Accidentals, Max Parker, multi-platinum writers Jeff Franzel (N’Sync, Josh Groban), Liz Rodrigues (Celine Dion, Eminem) and more. He has also written & performed music for many projects including the feature film 'About Fate' starring Emma Roberts, ‘Superwish’ (Teletoon), and ‘Fangbone!’ (Disney XD), one of many animated TV series in which Taylor also stars and/or plays supporting characters. His original songs & productions for online media such as Super Planet Dolan, Headspinner Productions & Corus Entertainment have been heard over 21 million times. Taylor has performed extensively. Recent appearances include various Canadian Pride Festivals, The Four Winds Music Fest, multiple Home Routes house concert tours, and USA tours alongside #1-Selling Itunes artist Flamy Grant, Sage Christie, Rachel Marie & more. 2024 was the first year Taylor has performed extensively while expressing his/her genderfluid identity - finding joy, courage, learning curves, and body curves along the way. In early 2025, Taylor announced a plan to finally try HRT this year.
