NXNE joins forces with Billboard Canada for the nation’s most important discovery music festival – presenting thousands of essential emerging artists, often before they break – from across Canada and around the world – since 1995.

From June 11-15, 2025, over 20 of Toronto’s iconic live music venues will host the best new bands in a skillfully curated program for fans to discover in the ultimate club-hopping experience. This program is supported by industry panels and Billboard special events including surprise acts throughout the week.

They were featured on season 2 of OUT tv’s “Call Me Mother” under their old name "Phoenix Black".

There are seemingly endless possibilities to self-expression, and Toddy is out there breaking new ground. A Vancouver-based comedian and trained opera singer, Toddy found recognition by winning Season 1 of OutTV’s Call Me Mother, being a vocal soloist in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in the “Symphony of Terrors!”, and performing at festivals around North America. With a winning combination of drag, standup comedy, opera, classical and popmusic, Toddy (she/they) is redefining the very idea of pop stardom on their debut album ‘Always’.

Burry is a dynamic and cutting-edge artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia, who effortlessly combines elements of indie and pop. They are a non-binary artist who has made waves in the music industry by fearlessly addressing important personal and societal issues, including mental health, queerness, and the struggles of living as a marginalised individual. Their music is a vibrant tapestry of colourful lyrics and melodies that resonate with audiences. Burry is an artist who defies convention and invites us all to celebrate our authentic selves.

18-year-old alternative pop marvel Anna Sofia grew up on a healthy dose of powerful rock ballads, Lana Del Rey breakup melodies, and artists who push creative boundaries like Kraftwerk, Rosalía, Madonna, Queen, Kanye West, and Elton John. It was this limitless individuality that destined Anna to become the genre-bending creative force she is today. Anna’s latest work effortlessly bridges the underground and the mainstream while traversing through the living Gen Z experience of being on the cusp of adulthood while facing an uncertain future. 2020 saw Anna release her breakout EPs, Self Aware Bitch and Broken Perfection, which have amassed millions of views across streaming platforms, with the title track “Self Aware Bitch” finding its way into the Netflix Original Series Ginny & Georgia which went #1 in the US, Canada & UK. Anna’s 2022 saw the release of her third EP LET ME OUT I’M FREE! with the standout track “Cruel World” currently charting at Canadian Alternative Radio in the Top 40. Anna’s 2022 performance highlights include shows in Los Angeles for the Schoolnight Showcase, New York supporting Ruby Waters, and Toronto supporting various artists including Noga Erez, 347Aidan and Ashnikko. Anna plans to release multiple small projects throughout 2023 as we enter into the next phase of Anna Sofia.
