GAY TORONTO HISTORY WALK – THEN AND NOW,
(Although it covers mostly Gay history it should be of interest to the whole 2SLGBTQIA+ Community)

The Gay Toronto History Walk is a 45-minute tour that begins at the Palm House in Allan Gardens, where Oscar Wilde spoke in 1882. The walk covers significant 2SLGBTQIA+ community spaces on Church Street, including Club Toronto, Zippers, The Barn, and Letros, and features stops at the first “Gay Apartment Block,” Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, and Woody’s, which hosted Queer As Folk filming. The tour also includes the AIDS Memorial, The 519’s programs, and concludes at Glad Day Bookshop. Inspired by George Hislop, it celebrates Toronto’s queer history and community resilience.
