Pride Toronto is seeking a maximum of seven (7) individuals for its Board of Directors to help lead the organization. The Director role is an unpaid, volunteer position and requires an average 10-15 hour commitment per month (higher in May and June). Individuals will be elected at Pride Toronto’s Annual General Meeting in January 2024. The following are vacant board seats and their terms:

  • Five (5) vacant seats that serves a three (3) year term
  • One (1) vacant seat that serves a two (2) year term
  • One (1) vacant seat that serves a one (1) year term

We are recruiting people who support the mission, vision, and values of the organization and are passionate about serving the 2SLGBTQI+ community in Toronto and beyond. Pride Toronto supports our communities in the pursuit of our unequivocal rights to be known, be heard, be understood, be accepted, be respected, and to celebrate the beauty of who we are. 

It is critical that Pride Toronto’s Board of Directors represents the diversity of our community and we strongly encourage individuals from historically marginalized communities to apply.

Pride Toronto specifically welcomes applications from Two-Spirit, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities, Women, older 2SLGBTQI+ adults, Trans / Non-binary people, 2SLGBTQI+ people with disabilities, youth over the age of 18, and individuals with accounting/financial management experience. We are also looking for demonstrated experience in the following areas:
  • Legal/Governance
  • Artist, Community, Government, and Stakeholder Relations
  • Human Resources Management
  • Strategic Planning
  • Sponsorship and Fundraising

Previous Board Experience is an Asset, and We Recognize Lived Experience as a Valuable Attribute.

We will be conducting interviews from November 20th – November 24th, 2023. Candidates will be provided various options for participating in the interview for equitable access, such as a phone-based interview and/or a virtual video conferencing interview. Nominees will be notified of their status on December 08, 2023.

Any candidate who applies and is not recommended or interviewed by the committee through this process may still run for membership on the Board with the signed support of ten (10) members of the organization, which must be submitted to recruitment@pridetoronto.com by January 15th, 2024.
