Are these identities separate or influence each other? Do they stand in juxtaposition or complement each other? What does it mean for these characters to be Jewish AND Queer? Enjoy video clips excerpts and analyse these questions using biblical, contemporary and academic texts.

In this workshop, facilitator Tanya Neumeyer will share their passion for spoken word and explore the creative possibilities that emerge when we speak from our hearts, minds and bodies. Tanya will perform their own work, writing prompts and encouraging those in the attendance to explore and express themselves in their authentic voices.

Virtual ProPride: Beyond Inclusion Towards Belonging

According to inclusion expert Verna Myers, “Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.” In which case, belonging is choosing the playlist. This virtual panel discussion hosted by Pride at Work Canada will look at how we move from discussion about inclusion to creating a sense of belonging in our workplaces. This event will bring both business and community leaders to the table. Attendees will learn about how to create spaces of belonging for LGBTQ2+ employees where they don’t just feel tolerated, but are actively celebrated.

Drag Queen Storytime: Oshawa Library

Social isolation is not going stop us from celebrating 2021 Pride! Youth Pride Durham, Toronto Drag Queen Storytime and Durham Children's Aid Society are partnering with all of the local libraries in Durham Region to present Virtual Drag Queen Story Time, featuring Lucy Flawless. Each library will present one story time, hosted as a Facebook Live event on the Toronto Drag Queen Storytime Facebook page.
