ON-FOOT Toronto “Gaybourhood” Music Tour

The ON-FOOT Toronto "Gaybourhood" Music Tour is a self-guided walking tour offered within the ON-FOOT Mobile App. Written by Denise Benson—acclaimed DJ, music journalist and author of Then & Now: Toronto Nightlife History—and directed by Garvia Bailey, formerly of JazzFM and the CBC, the tour will showcase some of the city’s most iconic 2SLGBTQ music venues and landmarks of past and present. These stories will be told through a podcast-style immersive experience that blends compelling audio narration with songs, archival images, concert memorabilia, and other artifacts, transporting users to key moments in the city’s rich 2SLGBTQ music history.

Virtual ProPride: Beyond Diversity Towards Dignity

While diversity changes who is in the room, dignity honours the full authentic self and allows equal participation in the discussion. This virtual panel discussion hosted by Pride at Work Canada will examine how we move from acknowledging diversity to affording all employees dignity in our workplaces. Bringing both business and community leaders to the discussion, attendees will learn about how to create a sense of belonging for LGBTQ2+ employees where they feel not only tolerated, but actively celebrated.

Drag Queen Storytime: Clarington Library

Social isolation is not going stop us from celebrating 2021 Pride! Youth Pride Durham, Toronto Drag Queen Storytime and Durham Children's Aid Society are partnering with all of the local libraries in Durham Region to present Virtual Drag Queen Story Time, featuring Lucy Flawless. Each library will present one story time, hosted as a Facebook Live event on the Toronto Drag Queen Storytime Facebook page.

This conversation explores the commonalities between youth and seniors as well as the compounded oppression and systemic barriers that 2SLGBTQ+ seniors experience in their struggle for visibility and access.
