Shifting the Narrative; Pride

The Drive-in program will begin at dusk. Arrive early to claim a good parking spot. It will be held at 575 Rossland Rd E. Whitby: South parking lot behind the Town of Whitby Municipal Building

Join DRIFF for an evening under the stars as we kick off our drive-in series Shifting the Narrative with a feature presentation of Yan England’s provocative psychological thriller 1:54. Exploring what it means to fall outside the norm in the age of social media, 1:54 asks the question: what would you do to survive high school? Tim, a shy 16-year-old athlete with a natural gift for running, is coming to terms with his sexuality and the loss of his mother. After a personal video is posted to social media, Tim’s private life is about to explode into the public eye. Yan England has personally selected the short film Wanted: Strong Woman by up-and-coming Quebec director Marilyn Cooke to precede his feature presentation.

Presented by Durham Region International Film Festival
