What better way to spend an afternoon than curling up with your community (virtually, in the comfort of your own home) learning a new skill? Come join us for our Pride Workshop Series! Flamingo Market presents a FREE DIY Weaving on a DIY Loom Workshop with Gabrielle Trach on GDTV!
In this workshop participants will learn how to weave a piece from start to finish. Using everyday supplies (cardboard, string/yarn, and scissors), participants will learn how to make their own cardboard loom. From there, participants will be taught basic weaving terminology, plain weave, as well as some finishing techniques. There will be opportunities for Q&A as well as troubleshooting throughout the workshop.
This workshop will include a brief introduction about Gabrielle and her practice, as well as a 20-30 minute overview of the history of weaving, prominent artists, as well as contemporary practices and uses for weaving.
