WorldPride International Grand Marshals and Human Rights Reception. This cocktail reception is a chance to congratulate global human rights activists from around the world for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of human rights in their countries.


Today, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.


Innis College, 111 St. George Street, at the University of Toronto.


International Grand Marshalls (IGM)/Global Human Rights Activists: Bill Schiller (Sweden); Roseanna Flamer-Caldera (Sri Lanka); Gareth Henry (Jamaica); Angie Umbac (Philippines); Marcela Romeo (Argentina); and Anna Rekhviashvili (Georgia).

WorldPride Human Rights Conference spokespeople include: Brenda Cossman, Director, Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies; Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Former Prime Minister of Iceland; Jónína Leósdóttir, Former First Lady of Iceland; Masha Gessen, Journalist; Richard Lusimbo, Ugandan LGBTI Activist; Vivek Anand, CEO of Humsafer Trust one of the largest LGBTI health and human rights group in India; Tamara Adrian, Leading lawyer and international transgender activist in Venezuela; Justice Harvey Brownstone, First Openly Gay Judge in Canada; and Justice Monica Mbaru, Kenyan Lawyer and Human Rights Activist.
