One of Pride Toronto's goals is to increase overall community involvement during Pride Week. One of the ways in which we do this is to create a space for community groups to gather, socialize, perform and essentially run their own event. This space is called the Community Café.
The Community Café has traditionally featured many different community groups participating in events that ranged from Gen X Bears, to square dancing, to a Filipino arts and culture show.
The Community Café will be held on Saturday June 28th 2008. Applications from community groups are welcome.
The application form will ask you to identify the proposed length
of your event, and time slots will be assigned accordingly.
Pride Toronto will provide a small stage/platform, microphones
and sound equipment, along with tents, tables and chairs.
Community groups will plan and run their own
events and return the site to a useable state when finished, ready
for the next scheduled group.
Community groups holding events at the Community Café will have
their event advertised in the Official Pride Guide. |
