Beyond the Rainbow
BEYOND THE RAINBOW is a one man multi-media play, set against the tumultuous backdrop of the global gay rights movement. Alex, a young gay man struggles to find his way in the world, and how he fits in, facing and enduring family rejection, discrimination, gay bashing, suicide, love, loss of a partner, HIV/AIDS, and finally finding family acceptance, self respect, and his place in the world. Alex finds a way to overcome adversity and still hangs onto his dreams of hope and that there is a better world.
BEYOND THE RAINBOW takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride, beginning with the StoneWall Riots, to the present. A drama that tugs at the heart, while still possessing the ability of making you laugh with joy over Alex's personal conflicts, as he rises above them, and the absurdities of discrimination.
As a multi-media play, BEYOND THE RAINBOW incorporates sound effects, music, pre-recorded news stories, and video projection.
