AlternaQueer, Alexander Parkette, Sunday, June 28th

Runs from noon to 11 pm

AlternaQueer showcases alternative artists that support the underground music scene of punk, industrial, electro, indie, new wave and no wave. The 2009 edition kicks off with local popsters The Craft Economy, followed by a Montreal's Electro Lise, Toronto's hot foursome Loveshot and more Montreal craziness from Pad Class. Then Toronto's all-girl punk sensations Fidget hit the stage followed by Detroit's Child Bite, who drop down a motor city set and Toronto's loudest hard rock noisemakers Crackpuppy. The electro madness of Opopo and the sexy beats by Lioness keep things pumping as night falls on Margaret Doll Rod and her one woman rock and roll ruckus which will make a great intro for NYC's Holy Hail. DJ Triple-X will be spinning throughout the day and the bar will be open so come early and stay late!

Loveshot
Local hot foursome Loveshot provides Toronto with a distinct and one of a kind sound. The combination of three vocalists and catchy beats results in a sound like no other, evident in songs including Love Assassin, Who¹s He Kissin and For Lovers Only. This fun loving group thrives on live performances and you may have even seen them playing before at local venues.  If you havent, you are definitely missing out.

Holy Hail
To classify Holy Hail in one genre would be an impossible feat. With ease, this band from New York City transcends many genres from rap to electro to pop to create their own unique sound. With the release of their 2008 album Independent Pleasure Club and with politically charged songs such as Cool Town Rock, Samo Son and Independent Self Devotion, Holy Hail has shown that they are ready to take the world of music by storm.

DJ Triple-X
DJ Triple-X has been playing the Toronto underground scene for many years, mixing and mashing, groovin and boozin. He spins an eclectic mix of music in the rawk genre of alt-indie, retro-electro, and dance-punk. From the obscure to the classics, you'll experience something you haven't heard for a while, and tunes you haven't heard at all.
