The 8 Ways Your Life Will Change When You Start Living Your Truth

This March, we are looking into all the ways that healing and sunlight help the queer community to embrace who we are.

The orange stripe on the Pride flag represents healing, which our community has had to do a lot of in the past and present. But through the healing process, we have grown stronger, more resilient, and more loving than ever before.

A part of the healing process is starting to live your truth. This means being open and honest about who you are, #nofilter. This can be one of the hardest elements about being a part of the queer community, but it has the power to bring you positive vibes in spades.

When you start living openly and honestly, your whole world can change. Here are the top things you’ll notice when you start living your truth.

    Confidence

Once you start living your truth, you might find yourself strutting around with your head held high. You are no longer hiding who you are, so you can let your full light shine and that will be instantly obvious to anyone looking at you. You’ll be serving pride in spades!

    Balance

Living your truth enables you to handle whatever comes your way. You take the good with the bad, and don’t let anything get in the way of your fierceness. Whatever happens, you know you’ll be true to yourself and come out looking like a kween.

    Power

A sense of being powerful and in control of your own path is another benefit of living your true life. When you don’t spend your energy on hiding your true self, you have so much more capacity to focus on taking charge and kicking all kinds of ass. With this new power, you better werk!

    Completeness

When you live truthfully and openly, you are complete. You do not need anything else to feel whole, your internal light allows you to be everything you need to be and more. The less time spent searching for completeness, the more time you have to slay your day.

    Honesty

Living your truth means speaking your truth, which can be incredibly freeing. Not worrying about what others think leaves you open to expressing yourself honestly. You won’t always please everyone, but as long as you are true to yourself, you will know you aren’t dimming your light for anyone.

    Healing

Letting go of the past and healing yourself is an important part of living your true life. Stewing over past mistakes or disagreements can leave you bitter and jaded. Taking stock of what really matters and letting go of the things that don’t let you strut down the runway without a care in the world.

    Validation

Living your authentic life means you no longer need validation from others to feel good about yourself. This is one of the hardest things to master, but once you do, you’ll feel unstoppable. Seeking your validation from inside is the best way to stoke your light and good a good dose of the warm and fuzzies.

    Trust

When you live your truth, your relationships with other people will get stronger. People can sense when you are being inauthentic, and by being open and honest about who you are, you will build trust with anyone you meet.
